The region of Rajasthan located west of the capital Delhi is fulfilled with history and architecture. Some of the cities to explore include Jaipur (the capital of Rajasthan), Johdpur, Udaipur, Pushkar and Jaismler. I teamed together with a group of travelers I met in the Mustache Hostel including a Chinese, English, Finish and Brazilians. Jaipur is also know as the pink city because of its buildings colors.
The attractions to sightsee include:
Sargasuli or Isar Lat is known as the tower to heaven. It is situated near the Tripolia gate and was built by Sawai Ishwari Singh in 1749 to commemorate a grand battle victory. It is 20 INR to get inside and climb the tower, we decided to see from the other side of the street for free
We kept following the Mi Road and reached a beautiful flower market.
The streets were live and full of various business including a store of ladoo a local indian sweet.
We decided not to enter in one of the historical city gates and followed until Hawa Mahal or wind palace. This construction is the most famous of the town, and was build by order of Sawai Pratap Singh so that his many wives could admire the exterior world but not be seen by people outside.
There are also 2 forts located about 15 kilometers from the city center and cost between 500 and 1000 INR with the tuktuk to go there.
