Of the 13 trips I’ve done with blablacar I’ve had two experiences that I can consider not very good. The first was from Tarifa to Seville, whose Spanish driver and an Argentinian lady smoked like chimney, with closed windows and no air conditioning.
I asked a few times for them to open the window, they opened and closed soon, there they started another cigarette.The driver was nice, the girl too, the car reasonable, but the ride was a bit uncomfortable because of the cigarette. At least he picked me up and left it in front of the place I needed.
A second experience that earned me my first and only negative referecene in the BlaBlaCar profile was the Porto to Madrid trip, which I lost because I had a party the day before and the ride was very early. I did not heard the alarm neither the calls. By pure fault of mine I lost the trip of 30 euros and still I was badly recommended.
In this context I have searched for 2 solutions, bus or hitchhike. There was no availability of buses for that day so I headed to the harbor in the intention to find truck drivers and hitchhike. I first took a subway to the Harbor of Porto, which was about 40 minutes from downtown, than by walk I headed to the truck parking lots, walking for about one hour with my heavy backpack.
After an hour, I asked a woman on the street who told me that I needed to walk another hour, I sat very tired in a chair, and I came to the conclusion that it was time to give up.
In the end, I decided to go to the train station where I stayed all day and still had to pay 100 euros for a train ticket. At least I had the experience to travel in a sleeping wagon for the first time, always seeing things on the bright side. I arrived in Madrid the next day with -70EUR. Next time no more parties!
