The tight and chaotic streets of Delhi are important parts of the India experience. The ways to move from A to B are diverse including taxi, subway, bus, tuktuk, rickshaw and even elephants. As soon as I landed in the airport I took a UBER. I used the subway for long distance trips in the city and tuktuks for short distances and touristic attractions sightseeing.
In the capital of India all tuktuks have taximeter but most of the drivers do not want to use them with foreigners. Most of the time you tell him the destination and he will give you a price. Even though it will be reasonable, negotiate to get a better rate.
From Jama Masjid, the biggest Mosque in India, until the new railway station I tried the Bicycle rickshaw. The first price for this 2 kilometers ride was 150 INR and after negotiation it dropped to 50 INR. You have a seat that covers you from rain behind the driver.
The driver was very nice so I asked If I could drive while he would enjoy the ride. Apprehensive for his bike he accepted the deal and was really fun.
I also saw elephants walking around the city but mostly used for tourists.
