There a are a few temples to visit in Hampi but the main is called Virupaksha. I visited this place in my second day in the city with Matteo e Sasha, one Italian and one Belgium guy. We drove our 100 INR motorbike to the river crossing.
The entrance fee is 2 INR but to take pictures you must pay 50 INR. This is a trick to take money from tourists. The architecture is fantastic and there was a lovely elephant inside when I visited.
If you give him food he eats and If you give money he take, gives to his owner and than bless you with his tromp. A very smart animal and one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen.
After that w went to the second temple, Vithali. A two kilometres walk under the sun but worth the visit even to see from outside. There were a few children doing a school excursion and was fun to hang out with them.
To enter the temple it was 250 INR for foreigners and 10 INR for Indians. We gave up to enter and stayed outside with the children.
