Have you even been to a brewery inside a windmill? If not, IJ Brewery and Windmill in Amsterdam might be your best chance. The brewery is open for customers only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but on the other days of the week, the bar downstairs is always open.
I ordered the simplr, which is a sample of the five types of house beers. They have several levels of bitterness, the first being the most bitter and the last one the sweetest. The alcohol content varies from 5 to 12%.
Here are they: Plzen (5%), Natte (6.5%), Zatte (8%), Ywit (6.5%), Columbus (9%)
The decor of the bar consists of several bottles distributed on shelves and some funny pictures. You can also order food from a window that sits next to the bar.
I was with friends I met at the hostel and enjoyed along with them the good IJ beer from Amsterdam. If you are in Amsterdam, it is worth visiting the bar and if you are there on the weekend, visit the brewery.
