My third experience with BlaBlacar was a ride from Amsterdam to Brussels with 2 Italians (Giuseppe and Francesco) and one French guy. The Italians were on holiday and rented a car to travel through Holland and Belgium. The French guy was also a passenger and was on vacation in Amsterdam.
My second experience from Hamburg to Amsterdam was also great and super economical. I paid only 20 euros in a section that would go by bus for 50 and train for 80. Each trip is very different from the other, because the people who are in the car are always a surprise. In this second experience I traveled with a Russian, Anton, who lives in the Netherlands.
The trip was very cool because besides the Russian, there was in the car an Indian Vignesh who lives in Miami, and a German whose family is originally from Ghana, Africa. Returning to the subject of traveling with the Italians from Amsterdam to Brussels, as I was going to do couchsurfing in Brussels and could only arrive at the end of the day the house I was staying at, I took the opportunity to ask if I could somehow accompany them during the day to Leave my luggage at the hostel or in their car. Francesco, one of them, was super nice and accepted me with open arms. They even commented that they were also going to visit Bruges, a city that was not in my script and invited me to go along. I left my luggage at the hostel and went to the city. At the hostel we also met two friendly swiss who accompanied us on one part of the tour, Cornelia and Madeleine.
The next day we left early to visit the city of Bruges about an hour capital. We parked the car in a free zone, where it was possible to park for free for up to 4 hours. Here is what we did in Bruges.
We returned the same day to Brussels and they went with me to the first celebration of my birthday at Delirium Café, the day I won over 5 free beers, showing my date of birth in the passport. The entire story of my birthday and a bit about Delirium Cafe, the bar with the world’s biggest beer selection can be checked here.
Blablacar is more than saving money, it’s a way of interacting with several people!
