There are guided tours inside the Budapest parliament that cost 10 euros for citizens of the European Union and 20 euros for foreigners and lasts about 45 minutes. The ticket office is in a basement accessible by a flight of stairs.
The visit starts with a icógnita, climb about 96 steps of stairs or use the elevator. The lazier or elderly choose the elevator, but the vast majority choose the ladder option. During the ascent you can admire some paintings on the ceilings and the architecture of the place.
You will arrive in a large corridor that gives access to the great hall of the dome, where we make the first stop. The guide explained that Budapest is the richest parliament in gold in the world and explained a bit about its architectural structure. After this we go to a room where it is forbidden to take photo and of course, the most beautiful place of the parliament. This room contains the Holy Crown and the Jewels of the Hungarian coronation, which is guarded 24 hours by guards, who take turns performing a ritual. I took a picture of the ceiling, with the cell phone hidden, because this without a doubt is the most beautiful room.
Soon after we passed by the hall of the old chamber of Lords and then after a few corridors we arrived in the parliament and saw the room where the upper house sessions happen and where the polls and decisions take place.
The visit ends again with the staircase or the elevator and after that we can go through a kind of museum that shows a bit of the recent renovation carried out in the parliament with a small construction mockup.
In the exit. a picture in front of the river that separates Buda and Peste.
