Bethlehem in Palestine is a must see for those who are interested in religious history. Inside the nativity church you can visit the exact place where Jesus Christ was born. The bus 21 brings you from Jerusalem to Bethlehem in 40 minutes and cost only 8 shekels, around one Euro. While walking in the old city and a few commercial streets the reached a big sign.
In the main square we went straight to the Nativity Church.
The entrance is free and the line is big, but we managed to see it. In the entry, Tombs of Adam and the altar that could only be accessed by a small door. Another large queue and we were in front of a door that led to a basement.
In this basement is the exact place where Jesus was born. People from all the religions were touching this sacred spot.
The room where Jesus stayed after born was also open for visit.
A lot of gold and old glasses chandeliers decorate the church.
The city had other sights, but as it was getting late, we decided to go back to Jerusalem, but the trip was worth it. Before living we had a stop to eat the best falafel and hummus from Palestine. Both on the way and the way back heavily armed men of the army went in to check people and documents.
