Swimming in the lake Starnberg

A friend of my Father owns a sailboat on a famous lake 16 kilometers from Munich, Lake Starnberg. Considered the fifth largest lake in total area of Germany and the second largest in volume, the place is great for boaters. I enjoyed that my father had come to visit me during my trip and we went to spend an afternoon there with the Sailboat. We left early Munich and in 40 minutes we arrived at the lake. The sailboat was anchored in the middle of the lake, so to get at it, you had to paddle in a small boat.

We put the small boat in the water and we paddled until we reached the sailboat. We removed all the rain protection from the big boat and climbed up gradually. When dismantling the protection, we throw the cloth in the small boat to have more space in the sailboat.

We had a beer and ate some breads awaiting the arrival of the wind, which was very weak. We waited for an hour and nothing, so we decided to jump in the water, because the summer sun was very strong.

The water was well chilled, but it was very nice after the weather exposed in the sun. I shot my jump in the water and it is possible to see in the next photo the exact moment that I entered the cold water.

Climbing was a mission because there was no ladder and it was necessary to climb up the prow.

We waited about one hour for the wind and nothing, unfortunately. In the end we ended up not sailing, but at least we had a nice afternoon of sunshine chatting outside and enjoying Lake Starnberg.
